Web Application Development Services

Fast, accessible, search-ready web products in Next.js and React

SyncScrum builds websites, web applications, portals, headless-CMS platforms and storefronts. Every build is server-rendered, measured against Core Web Vitals, accessible to WCAG 2.2 AA and structured for search, because a slow or invisible website is an expensive one.
  • Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS
  • Core Web Vitals and technical SEO built in
  • This site is built the same way

Six kinds of web work

Websites and web applications are different jobs. Both are done by the same front-end engineers, with the same standards.

Marketing and corporate websites

Fast, editable, search-ready sites that present the company properly and convert visitors into conversations.

Web applications

Logged-in products with real interaction: dashboards, editors, workflows and account areas, built in React and Next.js.

Customer and partner portals

Self-service front ends connected to your systems, with authentication, roles and documents.

Headless CMS platforms

Content-heavy sites where editors work in a CMS and the front end stays fast and yours.

E-commerce

Storefronts and checkout experiences, including Shopify builds and custom fronts over commerce APIs.

Rebuilds and migrations

Moving from WordPress or a legacy framework to Next.js without losing rankings, content or traffic.
Engineering standards

What is built into every web project

These are not add-ons or a premium tier. They are how the work is done.

Performance

Server rendering, streaming, image and font optimisation, code splitting and a Core Web Vitals budget checked before launch.

Technical SEO

Semantic HTML, unique metadata, canonical URLs, structured data, sitemaps, clean redirects and crawlable navigation.

Accessibility

Keyboard navigation, focus management, contrast, alt text and screen-reader testing to WCAG 2.2 AA.

Maintainability

TypeScript, component architecture, tests for the parts that matter, CI and preview deployments for every change.

Editors edit. Engineers engineer.

Content-driven sites are built on a headless CMS so your team publishes without a developer, while the front end stays fast and under your control.

  • Strapi or a hosted headless CMS, chosen for your editors
  • Preview environments so content can be reviewed before it goes live
  • Structured content models that survive a redesign
  • Shopify and commerce APIs for storefronts and checkout

Moving without losing rankings

Inventory first

Every URL, its traffic and its links are mapped before anything is rebuilt.

Redirects and canonicals

Old URLs redirect permanently to their new homes; nothing is left to 404 by accident.

Measured after launch

Crawl checks, Search Console monitoring and Core Web Vitals reviewed in the weeks after go-live.
How a web build runs

From brief to launch, with previews at every step

  1. Step 1: Brief and content inventory

Goals, audiences, pages, content sources, integrations and the measurements that will define success.
    Scope and site map
  2. Step 2: Design

Flows, wireframes and UI from our design team, or implementation of designs you already have.
    Approved designs
  3. Step 3: Build

Component-based implementation in Next.js with a preview URL for every change, reviewed by you as it grows.
    Preview site
  4. Step 4: Content, SEO and accessibility

Content loaded, metadata and structured data in place, accessibility and performance audited and fixed.
    Launch checklist passed
  5. Step 5: Launch and monitor

DNS, redirects, analytics and monitoring, then a post-launch review of crawl, vitals and conversions.
    Live and measured

Web development questions, answered

What kinds of websites and web applications do you build?

Marketing and corporate websites, web applications with logged-in users, customer and partner portals, content sites on a headless CMS, and e-commerce storefronts, including Shopify builds. If the software runs a whole business process, see our custom software development service instead.

Which technologies do you use for web development?

Mostly Next.js and React with TypeScript and Tailwind CSS on the front end, Node.js or Python behind it, PostgreSQL or MongoDB for data, and hosting on AWS, Google Cloud, Azure or a managed platform. Angular and Vue.js where a client's existing codebase uses them.

Will the site be fast and rank well?

Performance and technical SEO are built in: server rendering, image optimisation, Core Web Vitals targets, structured data, sitemaps, canonical URLs and clean semantic HTML. This site is built the same way, and the pages you are reading are server-rendered Next.js.

Do you work with a CMS?

Yes. For content-heavy sites we integrate a headless CMS such as Strapi or a hosted option, so your team edits content without touching code and the front end stays fast.

Can you take over an existing website?

Yes, after a technical review. Common work includes migrating from WordPress or a legacy framework to Next.js, fixing performance and accessibility, and adding features to an existing React codebase.

How do you handle accessibility?

Semantic markup, keyboard navigation, focus management, colour contrast and screen-reader testing against WCAG 2.2 AA. Accessibility is checked in design and again in QA.

What happens after launch?

Monitoring, dependency updates, content and feature changes, and performance reviews under a support arrangement sized to what you need. For products that keep evolving, a dedicated team or staff augmentation is usually the better fit.

How is web development different from your custom software service?

Web development covers websites, content platforms and web applications where the front-end experience is the centre of the work. Custom software covers systems that run business operations, integrations and internal tools. Many projects involve both, and the same engineers work across them.
