What does software consulting from SyncScrum cover?

It is delivered by senior engineers who also build software, not by a separate advisory practice.
What is a technical due diligence?
A structured assessment of a software product and team, usually before an investment, acquisition or major contract. We review architecture, code quality, security posture, infrastructure, delivery process, key-person risk and the cost of the roadmap, and deliver a written report with findings ranked by risk.
What does an architecture review produce?
A written assessment of the current system against your goals for scale, reliability, security and cost, with specific recommendations, an order to do them in, and an estimate of effort. Where useful it includes target-state diagrams and a migration path.
Can consulting turn into delivery?
Yes, and it often does. The recommendations are written so that any team can execute them, and if you want SyncScrum to do the work we move into a scoped project, a dedicated team or staff augmentation. There is no obligation either way.
How is the engagement structured?
Most engagements are fixed-scope: a defined set of questions, a defined set of interviews and artefacts to review, and a written deliverable on an agreed date. Ongoing advisory retainers are available for founders and engineering leaders who want a senior second opinion on tap.
Do you need access to our code?
For architecture reviews and due diligence, yes, under NDA and with read-only access. For roadmap and strategy work we can often work from documentation, demos and interviews.
Who does the work?
Senior SyncScrum engineers and architects who spend most of their time building products, including our own SaaS products. Advice comes from people who will be accountable for the same decisions in their own work.
How much does software consulting cost?
It depends on the scope of the questions and the size of the system. We quote a fixed price for a defined engagement after a short discovery call, with the deliverables and dates written down.
