AI engineering, not AI demos
A prototype that works on ten examples is easy. The gap between that and a feature customers depend on is engineering: data, integration, evaluation, cost and monitoring. That gap is where SyncScrum spends most of its effort.

Three areas of AI development, one engineering team
Most AI work falls into agents, generative AI and LLM systems, or automation inside existing software. They share the same foundations, which is why one team builds all three.
AI agent development
Systems where a model plans, calls tools and completes bounded tasks inside your workflows.
- Task agents with tool use over your APIs and data
- Multi-step workflows with human approval where it matters
- Agent evaluation, guardrails and monitoring
- Back-office agents for operations, support and research
Generative AI and LLM development
LLM integrations, retrieval-augmented generation and conversational interfaces grounded in your content.
- LLM integrations with OpenAI and other model APIs
- RAG over documents, tickets, knowledge bases and databases
- Chatbots and conversational interfaces for customers and staff
- Content generation, summarisation and extraction
AI automation and integration
Workflow intelligence added to the software you already run, through APIs and background services.
- Document processing and classification pipelines
- Workflow intelligence: routing, triage, drafting, enrichment
- Model and API integrations into existing products
- Data and backend work to make automation reliable
Custom AI applications and AI features
Whether AI is the whole product or one feature inside it, the work is scoped around a workflow, measured against it, and built to be maintained.

Integrating AI into existing software
How we integrate AI into existing software
Adding AI rarely means replacing the application. It means adding well-defined services around it. This is the shape of most integrations we build.
- 01
Your application
Web app, SaaS product, internal tool or workflow that already exists.
- 02
AI service layer
APIs and background workers that expose AI capabilities to the application.
- 03
Retrieval and data
Indexes over your documents and records, kept current through pipelines.
- 04
Models and tools
Foundation model APIs, fine-tuned models or classical ML, with tool access where agents act.
- 05
Evaluation and monitoring
Quality, latency and cost measured continuously, with alerts and review queues.
Data, backend integration, deployment and monitoring
The unglamorous half of AI development, and the half that decides whether it works in production.
Data preparation and pipelines
Vector and search storage
Backend services
Deployment and operations
From use case to a monitored AI feature in production
Short phases with a decision at the end of each, so you invest in the full build only after the approach has proved itself on your data.
Step 1: Use case and feasibility
The workflow, the data available, what happens when the AI is wrong, and whether AI is the right tool at all.Go / no-go with a scoped first phaseStep 2: Data and integration audit
Where the content and records live, how they can be accessed, what must stay private and how the result will reach users.Integration and data planStep 3: Prototype and evaluation
A working prototype on your real data, measured against an evaluation set you help define.Measured prototypeStep 4: Production build
The service layer, retrieval, interfaces, guardrails and tests, integrated into your application.Production-ready featureStep 5: Deployment and monitoring
Rollout with dashboards for quality, latency and cost, and review queues where humans stay in the loop.Live with monitoringStep 6: Iterate
Expanding scope, tuning retrieval and prompts, adding tools to agents, and reducing cost as usage grows.Continuous improvement

AI development questions, answered
What product and technology leaders ask before starting an AI project.
What does an AI development company do?
An AI development company builds software that uses machine learning and large language models to do useful work: custom AI applications, AI features inside existing products, assistants and chatbots, document and knowledge retrieval systems, AI agents that take actions, and automation of repetitive knowledge work. SyncScrum does the full engineering around that: data, backend integration, interfaces, deployment and monitoring.
Do you train custom models or use APIs like OpenAI?
For most business use cases the right answer is a strong foundation model accessed through an API, combined with your data through retrieval, careful prompting, tool use and evaluation. That is faster, cheaper and easier to maintain than training from scratch. Where fine-tuning or classical machine learning is the better fit, for example classification on your own labelled data, we do that too.
What is RAG and when do you use it?
Retrieval-augmented generation grounds a language model in your own documents and data. The system retrieves relevant content at query time and the model answers from it, with sources. We use it for internal knowledge assistants, document Q&A, support tooling and any case where answers must come from your material rather than the model's general knowledge.
What are AI agents and are they production-ready?
AI agents are systems where a model plans steps and calls tools, such as searching, reading records, drafting or updating a system, to complete a task. They are production-ready when the scope is bounded, the tools are well defined, there is human approval where it matters, and the behaviour is evaluated and monitored. That engineering discipline is most of the work, and it is what we bring.
Can you add AI to software we already have?
Yes, and that is the most common request. We integrate AI capabilities into existing web applications, SaaS products, internal tools and workflows through APIs and background services, without rewriting the software around them.
How do you handle data privacy and security?
Data stays within the boundaries you set: we design which data reaches a model provider, apply redaction where needed, use providers' enterprise data terms, keep retrieval indexes inside your infrastructure where required, and log access. Regulated data is handled according to your compliance requirements, agreed at the start.
How do you keep AI features reliable and affordable?
By treating them like any other production feature: evaluation sets that catch regressions, structured outputs and validation, fallbacks and retries, caching, model routing so cheaper models handle simple work, and monitoring of quality, latency and cost. We set targets for these before launch.
How do we get started with an AI project?
With a use-case and feasibility conversation. We identify the workflow, the data available, the risk if the AI is wrong, and the smallest version worth building. From there an AI MVP can be scoped and built, and expanded once it proves useful.
Where AI development connects
Validate an AI idea with an MVP, add AI to a SaaS product, or build the platform the AI will live in.
The smallest AI-powered product worth putting in front of users, built on foundations you can grow.
AI assistants, document intelligence and automation as features inside a SaaS product, with tenancy and billing designed in.
The platforms, portals and internal tools that AI features live in, engineered around your workflows.
Bring us the workflow. We will tell you whether AI can do it reliably, and what it would take.
A feasibility conversation is free. You will get a straight answer on the data you need, the risks, and the smallest version worth building.
