Custom Software Development Services
Software built around how your business actually works
- Web platforms, internal tools, integrations, modernisation
- Discovery to deployment and support
- Fixed scope, dedicated team or engineers in your team
Built around unique business workflows, not around a product catalogue
Most requests for custom software start with a problem that packaged tools have already failed to solve. These are the ones we hear most, and what we build in response.
The process lives in spreadsheets, email threads and memory
A workflow system with proper data, roles, statuses and history, so the process runs the same way for everyone and can be reported on.
Three tools that do not talk to each other
An integration layer and a single interface over your CRM, ERP, accounting and third-party APIs, with the data flowing where it should without re-keying.
A legacy system nobody wants to touch
Incremental modernisation: stabilise, wrap with APIs, migrate the riskiest parts first and retire the old system on your timeline.
Off-the-shelf software forces your team to work its way
A custom platform that mirrors how you actually operate, with the flexibility packaged tools charge for and still cannot deliver.
Custom software we deliver
Eight kinds of system cover most of the custom software work SyncScrum does. Many projects combine two or three.
Custom web platforms
Internal tools and back-office systems
Dashboards and reporting
API and integration development
Workflow and approval systems
Legacy modernisation
Customer and partner portals
SaaS and multi-tenant platforms
From discovery and requirements to deployment and support
Seven phases, each with a defined output. You see working software every sprint, and the decisions that are expensive to change are made early and written down.
Step 1: Discovery and requirements
Workshops with the people who run the process today. We document workflows, roles, data, integrations, edge cases and what success looks like.Requirements and phased scopeStep 2: Architecture and technical design
Data model, system boundaries, integration contracts, hosting and security approach, chosen for the team that will run the software afterwards.Architecture briefStep 3: UI/UX design
Flows and screens designed for the people doing the work, prototyped and reviewed before engineering starts.Prototype and design systemStep 4: Engineering
Agile sprints with demos of working software, code review, automated tests and a staging environment from the first sprint.Working increments every sprintStep 5: Quality assurance
Test plans against the requirements, regression automation, performance and security checks, and user acceptance with your team.Release candidateStep 6: Deployment and cloud
Infrastructure as code on AWS, Google Cloud or Azure, CI/CD, monitoring, backups and a go-live plan that includes data migration and parallel running where needed.Production launchStep 7: Support and evolution
Monitoring, fixes, improvements and new phases, with documentation handed over and an ongoing team sized to what you need.Stable, evolving system
Three ways to work with SyncScrum on custom software
Choose based on how well the scope is defined and how much of the delivery you want to run yourself.
| Consideration | Fixed-scope project | Dedicated team | Staff augmentation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Best for | A well-defined system with a clear end state | A platform that will keep evolving after launch | Adding capacity to a team that already runs delivery |
| Scope | Agreed up front, changed through change requests | A roadmap that is reprioritised sprint by sprint | Your backlog, your priorities |
| Who manages delivery | SyncScrum | SyncScrum, with your product owner | Your technical lead |
| Pricing basis | Fixed price per phase | Monthly, by team composition | Monthly, per role |
| Flexibility | Lower: predictability is the point | High: the team follows the roadmap | High: roles scale with notice |

Custom software questions, answered
What operations leaders, founders and IT managers ask before commissioning custom software.
When does custom software make more sense than off-the-shelf tools?
When the workflow is a real part of how you compete, when several tools need to work as one system, when off-the-shelf products force your team into workarounds, or when licence costs scale badly with users. If a good off-the-shelf product fits, we will say so; custom software is worth it when it removes work that no packaged tool will.
What kinds of custom software does SyncScrum build?
Custom web platforms, internal tools and back-office systems, dashboards and reporting, API and integration layers, workflow and approval systems, customer and partner portals, legacy modernisation, and SaaS or multi-tenant platforms when the software serves many customers.
How does the custom software development process work?
Discovery and requirements, architecture and technical design, UI/UX design, agile engineering in short sprints, QA, deployment to the cloud, and then support and evolution. Each phase has a defined output and you review working software every sprint rather than waiting for a big reveal.
How much does custom software development cost?
It depends on scope, integrations, the number of user roles and the level of polish required. We do not publish rate cards because the honest answer is a scoped estimate. After a discovery conversation we provide a phased estimate with the assumptions written down, so you can decide on a first phase before committing to everything.
Which engagement models do you offer?
Fixed-scope projects for well-defined builds, a dedicated team for products that evolve, and staff augmentation when you want SyncScrum engineers inside your own team. Many clients start with a scoped first phase and move to a dedicated team once the platform is live.
Can you work with our existing systems and data?
Yes. Most custom software we build integrates with something that already exists: an ERP, a CRM, accounting software, a legacy database or third-party APIs. Integration work is scoped during discovery so nothing is discovered late.
Where is the team based and how does outsourcing to SyncScrum work?
SyncScrum's engineering team is based in Lahore, Pakistan (UTC+5). We work in English, agree overlap hours with each client, run delivery in your tools or ours, and you own the code and IP from the first commit. Communication is daily, and you see working software every sprint.
Who owns the code and what happens after launch?
You own the code, the repositories and the intellectual property. After launch, most clients keep a support arrangement or a smaller ongoing team for improvements, integrations and monitoring. We hand over documentation and can also work alongside an internal team you hire later.
Where custom software connects
Add engineers to your own team, build for many customers instead of one, or put AI to work inside the platform.
What a dedicated engineer costs, how we vet engineers, and who owns the code you pay for.
When the platform you are building will serve many customer organisations, with tenancy, subscriptions and self-serve onboarding.
Document intelligence, assistants and automation built into custom platforms and internal tools.
Describe the process you want software for. We will tell you what to build first.
A discovery conversation is free. You will leave with a clearer scope, a phased approach and an honest view on whether custom software is the right answer.
